چکیده
Abstract Several technologies have aimed to recover nitrogen directly from urine. Nitrogen recovery in these was limited by the mismatch of nitrogen-phosphorus molar ratio (N:P) urine, being 30–46:1, and that final product, e.g., 1:1 struvite 16–22:1 microalgae biomass. Additionally, high concentrations found urine can be inhibitive for growth microorganisms. Cyanobacteria were expected overcome phosphorus (P) limitation given their ability store an N-rich polymer called cyanophycin. In this study, it model cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC6803 did not experience significant inhibition when cultivated synthetic medium with 0.5 g ammonium-N L ?1 . case urea, no observed having as sole source, but resulted chlorosis cultures process reached stationary phase. successfully a N:P 276:1, showing flexibility biomass, reaching biomass ratios up 92:1. Phosphorus starvation cyanophycin accumulation 4%. Dilution culture fresh addition 118 mg N 1.5 P (N:P 174:1) rapid transient 11%, after which levels rapidly decreased 3%.

Utilization of ammonium as a nitrogen source: effects of ambient acidity on growth and nitrogen accumulation by soybean.
Dry matter accumulation of plants utilizing NH4+ as the sole nitrogen source generally is less than that of plants receiving NO3- unless acidity of the root-zone is controlled at a pH of about 6.0. To test the hypothesis that the reduction in growth is a consequence of nitrogen stress within the plant in response to effects of increased acidity during uptake of NH4+ by roots, nonnodulated soyb...
متن کاملEffect of Nitrate, Ammonium and Urea on Growth and Pinnatoxin G Production of Vulcanodinium rugosum
Vulcanodinium rugosum, a recently described dinoflagellate species producing a potent neurotoxin (pinnatoxin G), has been identified in French Mediterranean lagoons and was responsible for recurrent episodes of shellfish toxicity detected by mouse bioassay. Until now, the biology and physiology of V. rugosum have not been fully investigated. We studied the growth characteristics and toxicity of...

Cyclic variations in nitrogen uptake rate of soybean plants: ammonium as a nitrogen source.
When NO3- is the sole nitrogen source in flowing solution culture, the net rate of nitrogen uptake by nonnodulated soybean (Glycine max L. Merr. cv Ransom) plants cycles between maxima and minima with a periodicity of oscillation that corresponds with the interval of leaf emergence. Since soybean plants accumulate similar quantities of nitrogen when either NH4+ or NO3- is the sole source in so...
